What in your life do you most cherish and appreciate? What entity has the most power to protect or attack what you cherish? What group of people has the greatest authority in the United States? Now that you've answered those questions, can we be of any help to you in protecting what you cherish? If you most cherish and appreciate your faith, family and freedom and realize that federal, state and local governments have the most power to protect or attack what you cherish, we certainly share the same values. Government is needed to protect us from criminals within our borders and from attacks by foreign countries or terrorists. But government can also inappropriately regulate your church, close down your business, take away your home and even take away your children.

According to Romans 13:1, in addition to our families and our faith, God has given "we the people" the greatest authority in this country through the immeasurable gifts of self-government and freedom to treasure and to guard…with our gratitude and good stewardship exhibited by voting wisely, voicing our opinions and then monitoring how our officials vote, and praying regularly for our leaders.
